A magnificent experience on Europe’s largest active volcano
The Rossini B&B has consolidated a partnership with the “Funivia dell’Etna” company, which for over half a century has brought together global tourism demand with the unique experience of visiting Europe’s highest active volcano. The cable car departure station is at 1,923 meters above sea level (Nicolosi Etna Sud – Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza). A cable car will take you up to 2,500 meters above sea level in just a few minutes, along a panoramic route that offers a view of a multitude of inactive craters from above. At the cable car arrival point, you’ll find our bar with a panoramic terrace where you can enjoy lunch and purchase traditional products.
Within this facility, Funivia dell’Etna also offers a jacket and
shoe rental service. We have all sizes available for men, women, and children. Nature should not be underestimated, and
this service exists to allow everyone to safely tackle the volcano.
From our refuge at 2,500 meters above sea level, you can continue on our special 4×4 off-road buses up to the
maximum altitude permitted by the competent authorities. This is currently set at 2,750 meters above sea level and
allows you to reach a site of interest with a wonderful view of the Valle del Bove.
This section of the route is undertaken with the help and assistance of trained Etna volcanological guides, who will ensure you enjoy this experience while adhering to current regulations and in complete safety.

Cable car return ticket only: The full price is €30.00 (adult and child > 11 years old). The reduced price is €23.00; children under 4 are free. Cable car + 4×4 off-road bus + volcano guide The full price is €68.00 (adult and child > 11 years old). The reduced price is €50.00; children under 4 are free. Our guests may also upgrade to the cable car at a later date, up to an altitude of 2,500 meters, directly at the bar. Your and our guests will receive a complimentary drink including pizza + drink + coffee/cappuccino, or sandwich + drink + coffee/cappuccino. This drink is valid for both the full and reduced ticket.

SUNSETNA
Immerse yourself in the heights for a one-of-a-kind sunset spectacle. The sunset fascinates us wherever we are… imagine what it can be like at around 3,000 metres above sea level. Once we reach the cable car departure station at 1,923 metres above sea level (Nicolosi Etna Sud – Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza), we will ascend in our special 4×4 off-road buses to the maximum altitude permitted by the competent authorities, currently set at 2,750 metres above sea level.
Sites of interest are the belvedere sulla Valle del Bove e the Cratere Laghetto (or Escrivà). Throughout the excursion, you will be accompanied and assisted by trained volcanological guides, who will ensure you enjoy this experience while adhering to current regulations and in complete safety.
The excursion takes place only on Tuesdays and Thursdays (weather permitting).
You must arrive at the ticket office by 4:30 PM and present the coupon you received at the B&B.
Departure at 6:00 PM by 4×4 off-road bus. Return to the Rifugio Sapienza square at 8:00 PM.

The excursion is scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday.
Schedule:
You must arrive at the ticket office by 4:30 PM. The ascent by 4×4 bus begins at 6:00 PM
and returns to the base after sunset at 8:30 PM.
Tips:
To ensure maximum enjoyment, we recommend bringing:
1) Closed-toe shoes, windbreakers (available for rental on site), and sunglasses;
2) Water and snacks.
